The Dipole is without doubt the system which reproduces the most realistic acoustic scene.
In a traditional acoustic system the wave, emitted at the back by the driver, is closed within the container. This is then either tuned to help the driver with the lower frequencies or used as an acoustic spring. The driver can move freer and faster in a Dipole, generating a considerable increase in sound detail, resulting in a far more realistic sound.
Emilio Manciati (Suono) says:
"Using a driver to make a cone-shaped mid work offers more disadvantages than advantages. It is the simplest and cheapest choice. When dealing with standardized speaker units it would be difficult to think about an arrangement which is not inside the main structure. Its function to collect back-emission produces two serious faults.
Firstly radiation impedance of the front side of the diaphragm differs from the back one - it would be better if the two were as similar as possible. Secondly the conditioning performed by resonances both in the diaphragm and in the structure are generally exaggerated by the driver.
Sound emission in an unsealed unit eliminates negative properties of mid-tones (tinny sound), emphasis on warm tones ( constrained sound), restrictions of sound diffusion created by an enclosed unit, perspective constraint of the lower frequencies."
Unfortunately not all types of drivers are suitable. It is essential to use a driver with structural features which allow more control over the movement of the diaphragm. However, if the baffle was to cover the entire range of frequencies in a dipolar way it would need to be of a dimension that is impractical for home listening.

It provides a satined and tempered crystal baffle with solid wooden supports.
The driver faces the coil without any interposed component, this benefits dynamic and perspective reproduction of musical rendition.
