PHILOSOPHY
ESSENZA
ESSENZA is a loudspeaker that offers extremely high acoustic quality. However, getting best results requires care and attention.
• ESSENZA is a DIPOLE designed for environments up to 40 square metres in size.
• ESSENZA requires between 20-30 watt RMS per channel, ideally Class A or valvular. If valvular 10 watts can be enough. Remember, using a smaller than necessary amplifier to the maximum is always more dangerous than one twice as powerful used with care.
• The maximum usable volume is not the maximum turn of the amplifier control knob!
• USE THE AMPLIFIER TO A MAXIMUM 6/10 OF ITS VOLUME. The first hint of sound "hardening" and then distortion indicates that the physical limit of the speaker-amplifier system has been reached.
• ESSENZA is an extremely linear loudspeaker, so tonal controls are disconnected or set on 0 (zero). Whenever there is significant acoustic deficit in an environment it is always best to seek a better position than to use tonal controls. In any case, whatever action is taken, volume should be proportionally reduced. Bear in mind that the closer speakers are placed to a wall the higher the bass sound, and vice-versa. (see below)
• For normal volume use keep the Loudness control disconnected. (OFF)
• The best listening position is obtained by placing speakers at the two ends of one side of a triangle, turned to face a listener in front, and at ear-height, or turned in that direction.
• ESSENZA achieves maximum performance after around 100 hours of listening. During this period sound can be somewhat sombre or strident: don't exaggerate with volume and/or tonal controls. The exceptional qualities will emerge with time!
• All speakers are delivered tested and partially run-in.
